Our pathway of learning and development starts at level three (A Level equivalent) and can take people all the way through to the equivalent of degree level. What is an apprenticeship?

An apprenticeship is a paid job where the employee learnsand gains valuable in work experiences. Alongside on-the-job training, apprentices spend at least 20% of their working hours completing online learning with a training provider which leads to a nationally recognised qualification. An apprenticeship includes:

· paid employment with holiday leave

· hands-on-experience in a sector/role of interest

· at least 20% off-the-job training

· formal assessment which leads to a nationally recognisedqualification

How does the agency work?

We employ apprentices and work with our network of employers across the North to provide host placements where you will train in core skills in administration, project management and leadership. Power Up Agency apprentices will do a minimum of 30 hours per week and will have one day per week with the training provider (also paid).

What does a host employer do?

A host employer provides an apprentice placement so that they can learn skills on the job. Host employers provide a mentor and deal withday-to-day management issues. Host employers will be briefed on what learning experience the apprentice needs and will facilitate this learning.

How long is a placement?

Each placement is minimum 6 months and can be longer. This is a good time for apprentices to settle in a get the learning required whilst making a positive contribution to the organisation.

Who will I be working with?

Our host employers work across the the North of England and deliver creative projects. From gaming to theatre, architecture to festivals, design, marketing and publishing. Our apprentices are recruited from a range of backgrounds, and we actively encourage applications from people that are underrepresented in the industry.

How long is the training?

Our level three, Creative Project Assistant programme is 12-18months and level four, Assistant Project Manager and five, Departmental Managerare both 2 years. You will have a range of placements over the duration.

How much does it cost?

As an apprentice, you get paid by Power Up Agency, on a monthly basis. As an employer, you pay a fee which covers salary, NI, tax and a small management fee to the agency.

How much do apprentices get paid?

Our hourly rate is in line with what’s recommended by the Living Wage Foundation and industry pay scales (https://www.livingwage.org.uk/faqs).We pay well above Apprentice minimum wage and this increases as you develop over the programme.

What’s the recruitment process?

There is an online registration document to complete and then you will be invited to attend one of our open recruitment sessions when we are recruiting. We run open recruitment sessions both online and in person where we assess core attributes such as communication, enthusiasm and critical thinking.

Do I need prior qualifications or experience?

Our apprenticeships start at entry level and do not require previous experience or qualifications.

What will I learn?

Our entry level programme paves the way for future leaders in the creative industry by establishing the core skills required. The core learning elements of the Creative Project Apprentices are planning and organisation, project management, record and document production, decision making and communications.

What support will I get from Power Up Agency?

You will get specialist one:one support from the team for apprentices and line managers. From pastoral issues to training we will be here to deal with any queries you might have and to provide additional support when you need it.
